Rare Authentic

Item Description:

An original brick (or fragment thereof) said to be from the House in which the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was born, located in Mecca, under the site of what is now the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Library (also known as Bayt al-Mawlid, or the “House of Mawlid”).

Comes with documentation / certificate of provenance tracing it to that historic site.

Historical Context & Authenticity:

  • It is widely believed in Islamic history that Muhammad ﷺ was born in Mecca in 570 CE (circa 53 B.H.).
  • The House of Mawlid (the birthplace house) has been demolished, rebuilt, restored, as well as at times destroyed or altered over centuries.
  • In the modern period, 1954 CE (1373 AH) marks the formal establishment of the Maktabah Makkah al-Mukarramah (Makkah Al-Mukarramah Library) over the site linked to the house of birth, with legal recognition and a permit.

Age Estimate:

  • The original house where the Prophet ﷺ was born dates to the 6th century CE (570 CE). That would make the building’s origin about 1,450+ years ago from today (2025 CE).
  • The modern structure/library over the site dates from 1954, so the site has had the modern library presence for about 71 years as of 2025.

Why This Relic is Rare & Significant:

  • Very few physical relics (bricks, stones) from buildings of the 6th-7th century in Mecca still survive or are preserved in such a way that they can be attributed with some degree of confidence to the Prophet’s lifetime.
  • This brick would be a direct physical connection to the early Islam period.

Own a piece of Islamic history. This genuine brick, claimed to originate from the House of Mawlid in Mecca—where the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was born in 570 CE—comes from the very grounds now occupied by the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Library (Bayt al-Mawlid), established 1954. Accompanied by proper documentation verifying its provenance. A deeply meaningful relic for collectors of Islamic history, museums, or believers wanting a tangible link to the beginnings of Islam.
